Authentic construction and modern protection

Accoya and ThermoWood Clock Tower Craftsmanship

Traditional timber construction, genuine metal roof options, professional two-pack epoxy protection and specialist clock equipment—combined in a serviceable architectural product designed for a long working life.

The structure

Modified Timber Selected for Exterior Service

Accoya and ThermoWood are used because ordinary short-life exterior timber would undermine the entire product. The selected materials provide improved dimensional stability and durability, helping the joinery remain reliable through changing weather conditions.

Every design also considers drainage, ventilation, access to clock components, fixing positions and the ability to service or repair parts in future.

Exterior protection

Professional Two-Pack Epoxy Finish

The coating system is a central part of the specification, not an afterthought. It is selected to provide a hard, durable and weather-resistant finish with long maintenance intervals when correctly applied and cared for.

Turrets can be finished in virtually any appropriate colour, allowing the tower to match existing joinery, cladding, masonry or a commercial colour scheme.

Designed for Low Maintenance

No exposed building product is literally maintenance-free forever. Our aim is to minimise routine intervention through stable timber, durable coatings, considered detailing and repairable construction—then provide clear inspection and care guidance.

Roof finishes

Lead, Copper or Fibreglass

Genuine Lead

Traditional appearance, proven weathering performance and the unmistakable character of real rolled lead.

Copper

A premium metal roof with a distinctive appearance that develops naturally as the surface ages.

Copper can be particularly effective on bespoke contemporary commissions and buildings with complementary metal details.

Fibreglass

A lower-weight alternative that can reproduce standard or curved forms while offering a broad range of finishes.

It is specified where the project priorities make it a more suitable choice than metal.

The timekeeping equipment

Proven Components from Specialist Suppliers

We do not attempt to manufacture clock mechanisms where established specialists already provide proven equipment. Instead, the correct faces, hands, drives, controls and lighting are selected for the tower, integrated in the workshop and made accessible for future servicing.

  • Appropriate external clock faces and hands
  • Single or multi-face drive arrangements
  • Master controllers and seasonal time correction where specified
  • Illumination options
  • Replaceable mounting and service access
  • Supplier warranty stated in the project quotation

Built for Decades, Backed for 25 Years

Our published guarantee covers qualifying timber rot and structural manufacturing defects. It is a clear commitment to the materials and construction—not a vague promise that hides exclusions.
